Air Sickness

I'm flying high, 30 thousand or more,
heading to a place I've never been before.
She's on my mind...

In fields of green, so serene I remember
Many strolls, grassy knolls and her laughter
My love grew, felt so true, wanted her to be
Daydreaming about me

I took her out and about every weekend
Bought her things, shiny rings, crimson roses
My drunken mind fell behind and I couldn't see
She wasn't dreaming about me

I hung around for far too long
Believing in a feeling that was much too strong
I should've cared about my nagging doubt
Before my happiness and bliss turned inside out

I'm miles above the sea.

I'm flying high 30 thousand or more
Heading to a place I've never been before.
She's on my mind...

The sky fell, straight to hell on a Sunday
His name was Jack, watched me pack my belongings
To the curb, undisturbed she tossed me, blue.
I shouted woman we're through!

My phone would ring, what a thing, she'd be calling
Till the end, we'd be friends she was claiming
It blew my mind had to find somewhere else to stay
I had to get away

The ocean shines far below
Even though I know no matter where I go
There I am, I'm still me, won't stick like a tree
Pull up roots, grab my boots, I'll be free

I'm miles above the sea.

The Art of War

Your eyes shine, your lipstick glistens
He nods his head and intently listens
To what you want to do
Where you want to go
What you want to see
He doesn't know any better
Imagine if he knew you like me

You're drinking up the attention you're getting
Winding him up by the way you're sitting
He's pouring you champagne
Asking you to come
To a quiet place
Where he can get to know you better
I almost recognize that look on your face

It looks like guilt and indecision
You're conflicted then you turn my way
You see me watching so you wink and smile
Then you go back to play

Payback baby, doesn't it feel fine?
We do our damage and we feed our minds
It won't solve our problems or change our state
But nothing warms me up when I'm cold like hate
Well I can't wait to see what else is in storeM
C'mon baby and give me some more

On the floor you're slowly dancing
Holding him close and secretly glancing
At what I'm going to do
What I'm going to say
What I really feel
About you and him together
The way you're playing it, it doesn't seem real

At the door you pause for a view
To see if I'm going to try and stop you
From going home with him
To his quiet place
Just to give me chills
I'm just a little bit too busy
There's a hot little mama on the window sill

It seems her name is Margarita
She's so sweet I know I've got to stay
I see you watching so I wink and smile
Then I go back to play

Payback baby, doesn't it feel fine?
We do our damage and we feed our minds
It won't solve our problems or change our state
But nothing warms me up when I'm cold like hate
Well I can't wait to see what else is in store
C'mon baby and give me some more

Close To Paradise

She's floating in his head
Like an amoeba with no ambition
Swimming 'round instead (swimming round and round)
Causing chronic preoccupation

He was barely alive (when first they met)
Wasting away, resigned to counting moments
She smiled at him in her way (a ray of light)
A ray of light in that darkest darkness

The morning sun became a welcome sight for sad eyes
Drew him close to paradise (paradise)
Opened his eyes so he could see
Just a glimpse of what his life could be

And she'll go on and on her way
Just out of reach for another day
Only one thing can save him now
If he can bring himself to tell her how
Things should be

She's floating in his head
Like an amoeba with no ambition
Swimming 'round instead (swimming round and round)
Causing chronic preoccupation

He threw bad habits away (with his common sense)
And tried to sell a superior product
She lacked the means to pay (couldn't find a way)
Its all wrapped up in a bad investment

What's he to do with his hopes and dreams?
Let them wash away in temporal streams? (hopes and dreams)
What's left in life if he lets her go?
Resign himself to fate's amoral flow?

And she'll go on and on her way
Just out of reach for another day
Only one thing can save him now
If he can bring himself to tell her

And she'll go on and on her way
Just out of reach for another day
Only one thing can save him now
If he can find a way to tell her
He loves her

Take My Chance

I took a walk outside
To calm my head
And to kick around
All the things I wish I'd said
I could've reassured you

But in my hardened state
I kept my feelings to myself
Don't mean to hesitate
To let you know I'm in

I often think about the past
Those times we had
Close enough to touch
But I couldn't take your hand
And pull you closer to me

But now I'll take my chance
If it hasn't grown too late
For me to make romance
It's a chance I'll take

But now I'll take my chance
If it hasn't grown too late
For me to make romance
It's a chance I'll take

I'll catch you up some day
When the skies are not so gray
I'll take you in my arms
and I will say
You'd better hold on tightly

'Cause this is one wild ride
And it'll last you all your days
And keep you by my side
And that's where you'll stay.

This is one wild ride
It'll last you all your days
And keep you satisfied
'Cause you'll know I'm in.

In Like Flynn

I should be smiling
Everywhere I go
It seems I'm in like Flynn
But there's something that she's hiding

I can't describe it
It's a feeling it in my bones
When I squeeze her tight
It don't feel right
What is she hiding?

She's all I wanted,
She's all I need by my side
All I'm asking for
Is that she give me more love

We can make it
All we need is a little loving baby

I'm captivated
I try to hang on her every word
But she looks right out of sight
It distracts from the conversation

She's so amazing
From the top of her head to her toes
But when we're dancing at night
She shows no delight
What is she hiding?

She's all I wanted,
She's all I need by my side
All I'm asking for
Is that she give me more love

We can make it
All we need is a little loving baby

She's dedicated
When guys approach her at clubs
They blink their eyes with surprise
As she gives them her cold shoulder

She's acting strangely
I saw her last night at the pub
It was quiet a shock
To see her lip-locked,
Kissing Angelina!

She's all I wanted,
She's all I need by my side
All I'm asking for
Is that she give me more love

We can make it
All we need is a little loving baby

Propaganda

You can't blame yourself
'Cause it isn't your fault
They got into your head
Cause its built like a vault
Its hard to get out
What you've put inside
And planting their seeds
Was the easiest thing they tried

Propaganda at the center of our lives
Pumping twenty-four seven
Television is
Where it thrives
Buy a bigger house
Another diamond ring
Get the kids a set of braces
Body augmentation, its the thing

Underwire bra
With a pair of breasts
If you call in fifteen minutes
Pay with Mastercard, it's the best
Pop another pill
Have another drink
The cost of self-fullfillment
Is a fraction of what you'd think

We'll Find it
Some day
Our bags are packed
We just need to be led that way

We'll find it
Some day
Our mind's made up
But we're easily led astray

Politicians poll and pander
Its a party on the hill
Feeling morally more justified
With every kid they kill
Under "National Security"
There's nothing they can lose
If they make a brand new market
For our hundred-dollar shoes

Pack another plant
Move it overseas
We can widen profit margins
Just expend a few Chinese
Pay them fifty cents an hour
For eleven hour days
They'll barely know the children
That they can't afford to raise

Make a small improvement
Put it on the shelves
Sell it as a giant leap for man
And market it with elves
Drop 400 billion dollars
Down the Holiday well
"Magic Meaning For Your Empty Life!"
The next big thing they'll sell

We'll Find it
Some day
Our bags are packed
We just need to be led that way

We'll find it
Some day
Our mind's made up
But we're easily led astray

Eat a giant tossed salad
With the dressing you deserve
And buy a glass of water
It's restraint you must conserve
Then sue the Golden Arches
for the fat you have retained
And buy a bigger better meal
With the settlement obtained

Big Money!
Big money on the brain
That Lifestyle show
Is driving you insane
Cash that welfare check
Buy lotto tickets at the till
Who cares about the simple life,
You could win a hundred Mil!

Ninety-nine
You made it to the end
Sitting on a million dollars
That you didn't get to spend
Around you in this moment
Many family members mill
Familiar faces wonder
What you left them in your will

We'll Find it
Some day
Our bags are packed
We just need to be led that way

We'll find it
Some day
Our mind's made up
But we're easily led astray
